FLEXPORT TOUGH
Solid tyre flexibility where you need it
For industrial users in fields such as mining, construction, waste handling and demolition, punctures and tyre failures are a constant challenge, but with Caterpillar’s extreme duty Flexport solid tyres there’s a cost-effective solution and an end to downtime. (Barloworld Equipment is the Caterpillar dealer in southern Africa.)
Popular on Caterpillar’s skid steer range, Flexport is also designed for use on all Cat small and medium wheel loaders, plus integrated tool carriers. Fleet owners have the option of either ordering new or Cat remanufactured tyres. For small and medium loaders tyres can be ordered in a 59x9x20.5 size or a larger 62x9x23.5 fitting.
Remanufactured Flexport tyres are made from 100% new rubber and only the steel rim is reused. Providing the same, as-new, service life expectancy of a new Flexport, customers also receive a core refund if the steel rim is undamaged when the time comes to change the tyre.
“A unique aspect of Flexport tyres are their specially designed holes which are moulded through the outer ring of the sidewall,” explains Barloworld Equipment group product specialist, Reuben Phasha.
“This provides the necessary flexibility and comfort since there’s no air cushion within the rubber. Additionally, the elliptical design of the tyre’s holes enable them to compress into a round shape under load, reducing stress points and preventing cracking.”
