Equipment has launched Bell Lubricants, an extensive
range of oils, fluids and greases tailor-made for the
complete range of Bell products including Bell-branded machines and the Bomag range of compaction equipment. The introduction of Bell Lubricants follows the announcement in March by South Africa fuels giant Sasol Oil that it had entered into a multi-million rand agreement with Bell Equipment to supply a range of lubricants. The lubricants range will be used by Bell’s Richards Bay manufacturing facility as well as distributed to and sold by Bell dealerships focused on the equipment after-sales market. Bell Equipment’s Marketing Manager Stephen Jones said: “With a product list of 25-strong, Bell Lubricants is yet another initiative by Bell Equipment to provide added value to its customers through our comprehensive programme of after sales products and services. It’s difficult to single out any one particular product because the whole range has had the benefit of Sasol Oils’ extensive research and development initiatives making use of quality base stocks and additives.” Bell Engine Oil Multigrade 15W-40 is a multi-grade, zincfortified, heavy-duty internal combustion engine oil. The enhanced detergency and dispersancy of this oil enables it to remove pre-existing sludge and other deposits from engines that have operated on other oils. However, its superior lubricating properties can retard the bedding-in of new components and therefore Bell Running-In Oil 15W-40 is recommended during the running-in phase of new or rebuilt engines. Bell Engine Oil Multigrade 10W-40 is a synthetic multigrade engine oil formulated to protect latest technology petrol and diesel engines, including engines with exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) systems. Each component of the oil has been individually selected to provide superior engine protection by improving oxidation resistance and deposit protection and better wear projection while ensuring energy conservation. Said Jones: “The use of Bell recommended oils ensures efficient performance and optimum protection of the engine. However, maximum benefit is gained by using the recommended oils in conjunction with low sulphur fuels. Sulphur in diesel forms sulphuric acid, which plays a major role in engine wear. Therefore low sulphur diesel forms less sulphuric acid and reduces engine wear rates, reduces harmful exhaust emissions and improves combustion properties and promotes longer engine life. In addition sulphur in diesel leads to the formation of sulphate particulates that, in engine oil, cause the depletion of additives and reduced oil life.” In addition to the engine oils the range includes Bell Synthetic Manual Transmission Oil 75W-90, which is a multi-grade gear oil for use in gearbox and differentials operating under a wide range of ambient temperatures while Bell Automatic Transmission Oil is designed to meet the demanding requirements of modern heavy duty automatic transmissions. Said Jones: “We also have Bell Torque Fluid 434, a multi-purpose gear and transmission oil, with a viscosity equivalent to SAE 30 oil. It is ideal for many drive train applications and is specially formulated for good chatter suppression, low temperature performance and antifoam properties.” |
Bell Lubricants has a selection of four hydraulic oils – Bell Hydraulic Oil VHVI and Bell
Hydraulic Oil 68 are both high quality, rust and oxidation-inhibited oils with a very high viscosity
index and excellent anti-rust, anti-oxidation and anti-foam properties. They contain anti-wear
additives and combine the functions of lubricating and hydraulic oils in a single product.
