BMG has enhanced its in-house seal manufacturing facility with the investment recently in a new Seal Maker CNC system that manufactures seals up to 520 mm in diameter.
“The company’s R1,2-million investment in this new highly efficient Seal Maker SML 500e machine enables BMG to manufacture hydraulic and pneumatic seals, o-rings, back up seals and oil seals to exact specifications,” says Ken Steel, general manager of BMG’s seals division. “A wide range of machined seals and various engineered plastic products can be manufactured according to exact requirements in quantities as small as a single unit, in less than an hour.
“This new machine, which is situated at BMG’s Sealco facility in Johannesburg, offers customers faster turnaround times, double the number of seal profile options and a wider range of materials, than previously available on the seal jet.”
This extensive range of seals is available in different materials, including Viton, EPDM, silicon and a range of polyurethanes.
BMG’s specialist seals division, Sealco, has for many years secured the exclusive supply, service and distribution agreements with leading global seals manufacturers, which means quality branded components are readily available. The company’s commitment to providing high quality seals is evident in the extreme care taken in brand selection, in terms of standardisation, reliability, flexibility and consistent quality controls.
Industries like mining, construction, manufacturing, earthmoving, hydraulics and pneumatics, hydraulic after-market repairs, materials handling, pulp and paper, agriculture and repair facilities, benefit from this specialist service.
