Case 580 Super R series 3
backhoe loaders 2009

CSE Equipment Company, exclusive distributors in Southern Africa of the Case range of construction equipment, supplies a wide range of materials handling machinery that includes backhoe loaders, known for enhanced productivity, flexibility and operator comfort.

The latest series in this range of backhoe loaders - the Case 580 Super R Series 3 – has a fully adjustable control lever that towers sideways, backwards and forwards, to ensure a comfortable working position for all operators. Noise levels of this machine are also significantly reduced.

“Another advancement of this range is a new load sensing, flow compensation hydraulic system that allows machines to perform with co-ordination, soft operation and precision in all movements,” says Rod Watson divisional director of CSE Equipment’s construction division. “The flexibility of powershuttle or powershift transmission enables these backhoe loaders to adapt to any application. The mechanical gear box provides smooth gear shifts, using synchronised gears for extended service life of mechanical parts.

“What’s important for the operator is all controls for the loader attachment are centralised on a single control lever. The operator can safely control the loader arm, bucket and the opening and closing of the 4 X 1, using just one lever, which allows him to concentrate on his tasks and the surrounding environment.”

The 580 Super R series 3, with a maximum weight of 8 140 kg, has a lift capacity of 4 830 kg and a backhoe digging depth of 5,80 m with the extendible dipper. The re-inforced structure of the loader arm enhances rigidity when loading, to provide the operator with efficient, precise movements, even in harsh conditions. The loader attachment has a float position and an automatic return-to-dig facility that ensures faster operating cycles. The Case mechanical quick coupler is also standard in the 580 Super R series 3.

The turbo charged engines of this series conform to 97/68/CE Tier 3 standards for reduced pollution and a high capacity fuel tank ensures long period of work between fill ups to reduce stoppage time. Front and rear work lights, as well as heating and defrosting features, are also standard to enable efficient operation at all times. Important standard safety features include a loader boom safety support, an operator safety belt, rear view mirrors and all round visibility from the cab. Multi-disc, oil-immersed service brakes on the rear wheels, with an automatic engagement of the front wheel drive, ensure optimum safety in all conditions. The new design of these backhoe loaders has a tilting engine hood that is easy to open for easy maintenance. All checking points can be accessed from the ground. To prevent vandalism, the bonnet latch has been placed inside the cab.

Case, which manufactured the world’s first fully integrated backhoe loader in 1957, continues to provide new solutions to meet customers’ exact demands for enhanced efficiency and extended service life in arduous conditions. CSE supports its range of Case equipment - which includes loaders, backhoe loaders, excavators and skid steers - with a technical advisory and maintenance service throughout the country. Operator and mechanic training is also provided.
