Case TX 140 telescopic handlers, available exclusively in Southern Africa from CSE Equipment Company, are designed for efficient performance, optimum safety and reduced downtime in the construction sector. “There are different units in this series to suit every task on a construction site,” says Rod Watson, divisional director of CSE Equipment’s construction division. “TX 140 telescopic handlers, with high working heights, easy manoeuvrability, total stability and precision control, enable the operator to work safely and efficiently in the toughest site conditions.”

The TX 140 range has a robust telescopic boom construction that enables many hours of safe lifting. An internally mounted hydraulic twin cylinder extends the boom, offering a 14 m working height. These handlers, with lift capacities up to 4,5 T, ensure stability through the combination of a long wheelbase, low boom pivot and optimised counterweight. Handlers with a maximum 3 T capacity can lift loads without the need for stabilisers, but heavy duty machines are available with narrow stabiliser legs that open within the machine width. 4,5 T handlers require wide spread stabiliser legs for total stability.

TX 140 telescopic handlers are powered by Tier III low emissions Case engines, with low fuel consumption and a high torque (516 Nm) capacity, to ensure efficient performance even in the toughest site conditions. Another advantage of this environmentally friendly engine technology is the overall reduction in emissions. These engines are mounted longitudinally on the side of the machine for a maximum transfer of power and for easy, ground level maintenance.

The four speed Powershift transmission and a three mode steering system ensure high power manoeuvrability, without the negative effects of heat build-up.

Operators are able to drive at speed when permitted and can also turn the handler in tight circles. A single servo lever, with a transmission cut-out button, controls all hydraulic functions, giving the operator absolute control of the machine without having to move his hand away from the servo or steering wheel. This feature increases safety on site and also reduces operator fatigue. For optimum safety, this range has hydraulic frame levelling to ensure the secure placing of loads at any height or reach. Audible and visual load indicators prevent overload conditions and reduced height mast pivot points ensure that the operator has good visibility, even to the rear of the handler. These machines are also equipped with safety valves on the lift, tilt and stabiliser cylinders to stop the boom from dropping in the case of hose failure. These handlers are fitted with a safety device that prevents any hazardous extension of the mast which makes these handlers suitable for the use of man platforms. Case man baskets, which are fixed, moveable or remotely radio controlled, are available for tasks that require carrying personnel.

The ergonomically designed telehandler cab, designed for optimum safety on site, has a curved top with wrap-around glazing that offers clear visibility of the boom and the load. All instruments are situated in a low level console for an unobstructed view to the front of the machine. The cab door and right hand window can be opened independently, locking back against the cab structure for security.  This series has been designed for effortless maintenance. All filters and fill points are easily accessible and the main hydraulic valve, which is mounted at the rear of the machine, can be reached through a separate panel, without having to move other components.
