Invicta Holdings Limited has acquired Equipment Spare Parts Africa (Pty) Ltd -ESPA - which will form part of the Capital Equipment Group (CEG).
“In this agreement, Invicta acquires 100% of the issued shares of ESPA, effective 1 January 2012, subject to Competition Commission and board approval,” says Tony Sinclair, CEO, Capital Equipment Group (CEG), Invicta Holdings Limited. “This acquisition provides further support to Invicta’s strategic focus on building its existing after-market spare parts base by enhancing CEG’s product offering and expanding its service to a broader customer base. This deal will also have a positive impact on future growth of ESPA which will result in greater buying power and cost saving benefits.”
ESPA is a leading South African multi-brand distributor which specialises in the procurement and distribution of high quality aftermarket replacement parts. These components include ground engaging tools and undercarriage for earthmoving equipment, replacement parts for Caterpillar, Komatsu and other earthmoving equipment, as well as parts for diesel engines.
The company serves the aftermarket parts industry through an extensive network of eight branches and five distributors throughout South Africa, Botswana, Namibia and Swaziland.
ESPA also offers a complete undercarriage reconditioning service from its three central workshops based in Johannesburg, Cape Town and Durban. These workshops undertake all reconditioning required for undercarriages, buckets, booms and blades for earthmoving equipment.
The company, headed by CEO Andrew Grobler, has established a reputation for availability of reliable components, high technical skills and cost efficiency for the local market.
ESPA, with an unchanged management structure, will retain its corporate identity and its operations will remain independent, but fall under Tony Sinclair, CEO of the Capital Equipment Group.
CEG, with over 150 outlets, consists of Northmec - Case Agriculture, New Holland Agriculture, Doosan - construction equipment, CSE Equipment – Case construction equipment, Club Car and Jacobsen turf, Criterion– TCM forklifts, Landboupart – after-market spare parts for agriculture tractors and Cartcom – golf car rental.
