Yorke says with IPD’s release of the latest line of engine replacement parts for the popular Caterpillar® C Series engines, Metric Automotive Engineering now has a genuine competitive advantage in the rebuild market.
The new C Series engine parts are the latest in a series of new products that IPD has released over the past few years, specifically designed to lower the cost of rebuilding Caterpillar® engines without jeopardising engine performance or life.
“The quality of this new line of parts is what mechanics around the world have come to expect from IPD — and the parts are competitively priced to save costs on C Series engine rebuilds,” Yorke says. “Essentially, IPD products are Caterpillar® replacement parts but, unlike parts being sourced from the East, IPD parts are manufactured in a Lloyds accredited ISO 9001:2000 quality controlled environment.”
In addition to the C Series engine parts, IPD has developed parts for other engine families including the CAT® 3116, 3126, 3300, 3400 and 3500 Series engines.
ISO 9000:2000-accredited Metric Automotive Engineering’s services are complemented by its subsidiary, Reef Fuel Injection Services (RFI), which provides Bosch-approved fuel injection servicing and is one of the few Bosch-appointed EDC (electronic diesel control) service centres in South Africa. RFI also boasts Denso, Delphi and Standyne accreditation for fuel injection components.
Following an audit by an independent verification body, Metric Automotive Engineering was granted a Level 4 BBBEE (Broad Based Black Economic Empowerment) rating in May 2011. This means the company’s customers can now claim 100% black spend for the purpose of their own BBBEE scorecards.
