Northmec, exclusive distributors throughout Southern Africa for Case tractors and axial-flow combines, continues to expand its product range to meet exact market demand.
“The range of Case IH tractors, known for high levels of productivity, reliability, efficiency and operator comfort, includes the multi-functional Puma series, which has recently been extended to include the new 155 SWB unit,” says Arno Du Plessis of Northmec, a division of CSE Equipment. “Case IH Puma tractors, designed for fuel economy and optimum efficiency in precision farming, have innovative features for enhanced performance, reduced noise levels and minimum maintenance.”
There are now five tractors in this series – the new 155 SWB unit, as well as 165, 180, 195 and 210 tractors, with power ratings from 116 kW to 157 kW. For optimum power and efficiency, these tractors are equipped with four cylinder, 6,75 litre turbo charged, inter-cooled, low emission Tier III diesel engines.
A constant engine speed mode ensures a constant engine rpm and PTO speed that is independent of load fluctuations. Efficiency of this engine is improved by a modern vistronic fan, which also reduces fuel consumption.
A new common-rail engine with additional power boost and a new power management system drives Puma tractors. Common-rail, high pressure fuel injection and an electronic fuel management system enhance economical operation.
The engine oil and filter replacement intervals have been extended to 300 hours, reducing service and maintenance requirements. Biodiesel fuel blends, that meet ASTM6751 standards, are approved for Case IH engines, up to B5 (5% blend ratio).
In addition to traction management features for efficient operation in uneven terrain, on the road and around yards, these tractors are equipped with various front axel features to improve steering, braking and safety. An auto 4WD and diff lock disengage and engage automatically on tight corners.
The highly advanced 18 x 6 transmission features field and road modes to automatically shift up and down gears to maximise output. A powershuttle lever on the steering column allows the driver to switch between forward and reverse travel, without declutching which is ideal when working with a front loader or at the headland.
The Puma’s hydraulic system ensures outstanding power with precision control. The electronically controlled close centre load sensing system responds accurately to the smallest change in draft resistance, supplying a precise oil flow rate to match operating conditions.
These tractors have a spacious and ergonomically designed surround vision cab for enhanced operator comfort. Optional features include cab suspension and an automatic air-conditioning system.
Northmec, with 11 branches and over 40 dealers throughout Southern Africa, has a specialised spares and accessories division that supplies a comprehensive range of quality branded original equipment and replacement parts.
