Mini cranes great for congested areas
Unic Cranes Europe has appointed B&B Plant and Equipment as
its distributor in South Africa. B&B will supply and service
Unic’s full range of mini crawler cranes.
Originally designed to operate in congested construction sites,
Unic mini crawler cranes are an engineering innovation.
The combination of pioneering design, precision manufacturing
and advanced material technology means these cranes are
incredibly compact yet provide the same capacity and reach of
much larger cranes.
At 590mm wide and weighing 1 000kg, the A094CR is the
smallest in the range and can lift 0.995 t. The A 295 is the
first mini crawler crane available that is narrow enough to drive through a standard doorframe, but with almost 3 t of lifting
power at 1.4 m radius. Lifting height is 8.8 m. It leads the way technically with an array of safety features including a
computer-controlled intelligent voice warning system and
safe load indicator. It comes with remote control cable or radio control.
The 094, 095 and 295 allow operators to switch between petrol, LPG and mains electric power at the flick of a switch to suit the site enviroments. The 376, 506 and 706 models are fitted with diesel-powered and mains electric power optional equipment.
The UNIC mini crawler cranes (0.995 t to 4 t) have an automatic hook system that allows operator-controlled stowing via lever or button operation.
The hexagonal boom has been designed to reduce boom sway
and increase operational accuracy while an over-lowering
prevention device aims to avoid damage when lowering below ground level.
The crane is extremely popular because of its ability to work in confined spaces, lifting loads normaly associated with larger
cranes.
With a 6 tonne capacity at 3m and a hook height of 19.5m,
the URW-706 is the highest capacity crane in the UNIC range.
The new machine is the behemoth of the mini crane world
and yet at 1600mm wide is still narrow enough to gain access through a standard double doorway. For added lifting flexibility,
the 706 also features an optional 3.1m long stowable fly jib, together with an optional searcher hook.
